Traveling in New Mexico when oil light came on, which usually indicates a bad oil sensor in VW Eorovan. Cutting Edge was recommended by a local with same vehicle. Too soon to know if they did a good job, but they charged 1 hr labor for each thing done, and one was adjusting oil level--charged $100/hr and did work not asked for. We just wanted oil sensor replaced. Hope the other work was necessary as we were charged over $600 . Don't know if we were overcharged since we are from out of state.
Jacqueline, thank you for your feedback however this review came to us as a surprise as we typically do not receive complaints in regards to our prices. I would like to further explain the details of your service as it seems there was a miscommunication. Your vehicle was brought to us with an illuminated oil pressure light, we first checked the oil level to discover it was low and adjusted it at no cost. This would have been the best case scenario however it did not solve the problem. We then began a standard diagnosis process and we ran both electrical and fluid pressure tests to discover the damaged part and proceeded with the proper repair. In addition to the oil issue we discovered the power steering and brake fluid needed to be replaced which we informed you of and performed per your approval. We take great pride in our work and charge accordingly for the the quality our customers expect. $100hr is a Santa Fe standard for automotive repair as it is a very expensive city to live in as well as do business in. Again, we apologize for any misunderstanding please give us a call to discuss further.
